“The CAREt System – Error Prevention That Works”

IntelliDOT™ is focused on helping hospitals meet the challenges of improving patient safety, preventing adverse “never events” including medication errors, while enhancing clinical workflows. Founded in 2002 by a team of experienced hospital system innovators, IntelliDOT produces and implements the most effective bar code point-of-care (BPOC) patient safety applications currently on the market.

The IntelliDOT CAREt System is the first clinician-centered work?ow manager, designed by clinicians for clinicians and created to connect caregivers with the information they need when they need it most, at the point of care. Created after several years of nurse research, the IntelliDOT team developed the only custom-designed, truly easy to use patient safety system.

“New York-Presbyterian has a longstanding commitment to using technology to enhance care and better serve our patients. It is our hope that this project, in which we work together with IntelliDOT to further our mutual interest in enhancing patient care, can serve as a model for hospitals across the country,” said Robert E. Kelly, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.

IntelliDOT, with the assistance of their customers, has taken patient safety to a new level by expanding the core functionality of the Bedside Medication Administration System and developing additional patient safety applications the same nurse-friendly wireless handheld communication device. These patient safety systems include: Phlebotomy Specimen Collection System, Vital Sign Collection System, Mother-Baby Breast Milk Matching System.

Why, why, why? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Ty Arnold

Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are almost dead?

Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they already know there is not enough money?

Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars; but have to check when you say the paint is still wet?

Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?

Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?

Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

Whose idea was it to put an 'S' in the word 'lisp'?

If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?

Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?

Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?

Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?

Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?

How do those dead bugs get into those en closed light fixtures?

When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, 'It's all right?' Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, 'That really hurt, why don't you watch where you're going?'

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?

How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

And my FAVORITE......

The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.

Macro Writing: Creating Global Programs
That Can Be Accessed From Anywhere

Abstract:
Leading report writers demonstrate and educate participants on the best practices for developing global macros that make key data accessible to all MEDITECH applications.

During the webcast, you will learn to create utility macros that access common patient information such as NUR Documentation, LAB Results, PHA Orders, RAD/ITS Exams, and OE Orders. These macros can then be called from any NPR Report without the need for fragments, leaving you to feel complete and as one with your MEDITECH data.
